Barton women fall to red hot Colby team
The Barton County Community College women's basketball team ran up against one of the hottest NJCAA women's basketball teams it he country Monday night and left with a 99-58 loss to Colby at the Community Building in Colby. Colby jumped from the tier of unranked teams to No. 16 in the country in the latest NJCAA poll. The Trojans have now won 16-straight contests and are 17-1 on the season and 4-0 in the West. Barton is 10-8 overall and 0-4 in the conference.

Highlights
The Cougars were not able to stop the foreign quartet of Bojana Samardziska, Louise McLean, Jelena Spiric, and Ivana Drmanac. Those four combined to shot a stellar 23-of-34 from the field (6-of-9 on 3-pointers) and combined for 63 points. All four have already signed to play for the University of Nebraska.

Freshmen Carly Bloomfield and Tarryn Montgomery led the Cougars with 15 and 14 points. Akia Harmon joined the two in double figures with 10. Bloomfield also had 7 rebounds and Natalie Arndt handed out 8 assists.

Samardziska led Colby with 19 points followed by McLean and Spiric with 16. McLean just missed out on a triple double, gathering 8 rebounds and dishing out 9 assists.
