Ridley follows coach from Wichita Heights to Barton County

Brittany Ridley was among the 5 signees released by the Barton County Community College women's basketball team today and 1st year coach Lane Lord. She is a familiar face to Coach Lord, having played for him for four years at Wichita Heights High School. While at Heights, Ridley and her teammates complied an 89-8 record over four years with 2 Class 6A titles to the Falcons credit.

Ridley is one of 2 Heights players released by the school as following Coach Lord to the Cougars. She will be joined by Sharece Love. While at Heights her senior season, Ridley and the Falcons compiled a 20-2 record, holding down the No. 1 ranking in Class 6A most of the season before being upset in the Class 6A Sub State Championship. Ridley, 5-3, was the starting point guard both her junior and senior seasons while earning a letter her sophomore campaign.

Ridley scored 12 points a game her senior campaign and dished out 5 assists as the Falcons captured the 2004 City League title. Heights won or shared the City League title all four years of Ridley's career. Ridley also hit 38 percent on 3-pointers for Heights.

Coach Lane Lord comments
Brittany is one of the quickest guards in the state both offensively and defensively. She will force the tempo for the Cougars allowing us to play an aggressive style. Brittany will be an impact player for Barton at the point guard position.
