Cougars drop opener to Murray State
The Barton County Community College women's basketball lost its season opener in a nail-biter, falling to Murray State College (Okla.), 49-45 at the Barton County Gym during the first day of the Pepsi Classic.

Highlights
The Cougars trailed much of the contest, but always stuck within striking distance of their foes from Oklahoma. But Barton County could not wrestle the lead away from the Aggies.

Michelle Deighton and Akia Harmon each scored 10 points to lead the Cougars.
