Bloomfield signs to play for Barton County
Carly Bloomfield will continue her basketball career next season as a member of the Barton County Community College women's basketball team. The 5-9 senior from Clifton-Clyde High School signed a letter-of-intent to play for the Cougars last week on the first day of the Spring signing period for colleges.

Bloomfield led the Eagles to a 17-5 record this past season. She averaged 19.2 points per contest as well as grabbing 7.7 rebounds and handing out 5.2 assists from her guard position.

She was selected 1st team All-Area by the Salina Journal and was named 2nd Team All-State by both the Wichita Eagle and Topeka Capital Journal. She was also an All-Twin Valley selection.

Bloomfield ended her high school career as Clifton-Clyde's all-time leading scorer with 1,627 points. She also ranks 1st in school history in steals, 2nd in assists, and 3rd in career rebounds. Bloomfield will participate in track and field at Barton County as well. As a junior, Bloomfield was the Class 1A State Champion in the shot put and placed second in the javelin throw at the state meet.

Coach Don Kayser comments
Carly is a very versatile guard that can shoot the 3 and drive the ball to the basket. She has the ability to create and has shown that she can be a big-time scorer that will fill a need we have.
