Claflin's Jeffrey inks to play for Barton County
The Barton County Community College women's basketball team kept things close to home with the signing of Amber Jeffrey from Claflin High School. Jeffrey joins a growing list of players from the Barton County school to move on and play basketball for the Cougar women.

As a senior at Claflin the 5-11 forward, averaged 12 points, 7 rebounds a contest. Her season was just 12 games long, getting cut short by a knee injury. Despite the injury, Jeffrey was still tabbed as a 1st team All-Central Prairie League performer for the Wildcats. She was a 2nd team All-Area pick as well.

Coach Don Kayser comments
Amber is very athletic and she has good skills. She is also left-handed, which tends to cause some problems for defenders. They just get so used to guarding right-handers that lefties have a little advantage over their defender.
