Colby knocks off Barton women
The Barton County Community College women's basketball team dropped a road contest Saturday night, falling to the Colby Trojans in Colby, 63-48.

The loss drops Barton County to 10-16 overall and 3-9 in the Jayhawk West. Colby is now in 5th in the West with a 15-12 overall mark and a 7-6 West record.

Highlights
Barton fell behind early in the contest and played catch-up most of the night. The Cougars trailed 31-20 at the break after hitting just 23 percent of its shots. A better shooting 2nd half by the Cougars allowed them to make some runs, but they could not catch the Trojans.

Barton was led by Michelle Deighton and Sue McIntosh with 13 points each. Briana Harris had 9 rebounds for Barton. Colby was led by Bojana Smardizkiska with 18 points, 14 rebounds, and 9 blocked shots.
