Cougar women ink San Diego State transfer
Amber Fouse is the newest member of the Barton County Community College women's basketball incoming class that looks to the best recruiting class the past few years for the Cougars. Fouse comes in from San Diego State University, where she started in 11 of the team's 27 games last season.

Fouse, 5-7, scored nearly 6 points a contest and led the Aztecs with 57 assists during the team's 9-18 season. She was 5th on team in scoring. She led the team in scoring twice, scoring a season-high 15 points in a win at Sacramento State.

Fouse had a stellar high school career at Narbonne High School in Harbor City, Calif. She was a 4-year letterwinner for a team that was twice named the No. 1 high school according to the USA Today. The won the mythical National Title her sophomore and junior seasons. During her sophomore season, Fouse helped Narbonne to a perfect 34-0 record and the Division I state title in California. The next season Narbonne went 28-3 and again won the Division I state title and was tabbed as the No. 1 team in the USA Today. As a senior, Narbonne was defeated in the state title game, finishing 27-4 and the No. 14 ranked team in the USA Today.

Fouse was a nominee for the McDonald's All-Star game following her senior season. She was also a principal's honor roll student at Narbonne and played with five other players who went on to play NCAA Division I basketball.

Fouse joins a recruiting class that already includes an All-State selection from Florida (Chelsia James), a 1st team All-State player from Oklahoma (Rebecca Chapman), as well as 2nd Team All-State pick in Kansas (Carly Bloomfield), and 2nd Team All-Area from Claflin (Amber Jeffrey).

Coach Don Kayser comments
Getting Amber made us a much better basketball team. She is very athletic and can really play great defense. She will give us quickness at the point guard spot both offensively and defensively.
