Cougar finish Booster Club/Walnut Bowl Classic 1-1
The Barton County Community College women's basketball team won one and lost one at the Cougar Booster Club/Walnut Bowl Classic over the weekend at the Barton County gym. The Cougars won Saturday, 89-18 over Lincoln School of Commerce after falling to Midland College (Texas) Friday by a 73-46 count.

In the other two tournament games, Seward County won the classic with a thrilling 65-63 win over Midland Saturday. Seward, ranked No. 2 in the nation, also knocked off Lincoln Commerce, 99-30.

Barton is now 7-5 for the season, Seward is 8-0 and Midland is 11-2.

Highlights
Barton matched their school record for fewest points allowed in a game with the 89-18 win over Lincoln Commerce. It was the second time this year the Cougars have held Lincoln Commerce to 18 points. Earlier this year the Cougars won 100-18 over the Aliens.

Christa Wilson led Barton County with 17 points, followed by Akia Harmon and Heather Nittler with 12. Harmon added 9 rebounds in the win.

In the loss to Midland, Michelle Deighton scored 11 to lead the Cougars.
