    The Barton County women's basketball team will go to the Region VI tournament riding a 2-game winning streak after earning a 72-63 win over Pratt Saturday night at the Barton County Gym. The win improves the Cougars to 10-20 overall and 5-11 in the Jayhawk West. Pratt finishes 18-12, 6-10.

    The Barton County women's basketball made things look easy at time Wednesday night, but had to stave off a pesky Colby team to secure an 87-75 win at the Community Building in Colby. The win moved Barton to 4-11 in the Jayhawk West and 9-20 overall. Colby ends its season at 2-14 and 8-22.

    The Barton County women's basketball team again found itself in a battle with a 3-loss team, but again, the second half proved to the difference. The Cougars led Hutchinson by four at halftime, but by the time the final buzzer sounded, Hutchinson had bagged a 71-58 Jayhawk West win. The loss drops Barton County to 3-11 in the West and 8-20 overall. Hutchinson is now 10-3 and 24-3.

The Cougars fell to Seward County, 89-67 at the Barton County Gym. The loss dropped Barton County to 6-17 overall and 1-8 in the Jayhawk West. Seward County is now 23-0 and 9-0.

    The Barton County women's basketball team dropped an 81-67 decision to the defending national champion Cloud County Monday night at the Barton County Gym. The loss dropped Barton to 1-7 in the Jayhawk West and 6-16 overall. Cloud County is now 6-2 and 18-4.

    The Barton County women's basketball team finally snapped that pesky Jayhawk West losing streak, earning an 86-75 win at Pratt Saturday night. The win was the first in West play for Barton, now 1-6 and 6-15 overall. Pratt fell to 4-3 in the West and 15-6 overall.

    The Barton County women's basketball again put a scare in its opponent, but was unable to come away with the victory. The Cougars lost at Hutchinson in Jayhawk West action, falling to the Blue Dragons, 68-57. Barton is now 5-15 overall and 0-6 in Jayhawk West play. Hutchinson is 17-2 and 2-3.

    Butler County took an early lead in the game at 12-0, but the Cougars battled back and kept the game in single digits most of the first half, trailing 31-22 at the break. In the second half, the Grizzlies maintained a lead of 8-12 points most of the way before pulling away for the 19-point win.

The result wasn't what the Cougars wanted, falling 113-62 to the Saints. Barton falls to 0-2 in the Jayhawk West and 5-11 overall. Seward County is now 2-0 and 16-0.

The Cougars dropped two more games over the weekend at the Pizza Hut Classic at Barton County to fall to 3-4 for the season. All four losses have been to teams ranked in the Top 25.

    The Barton County Community College women's basketball team finished the weekend in Oklahoma with a 1-2 mark, giving the Cougars a 3-2 overall record. The Cougars lost to Eastern Oklahoma Thursday, 75-61, then fell to the No. 1 ranked team in the nation, Northeastern Oklahoma Friday, 110-56 in the first night of the NEO Classic. Barton County concluded its weekend with an 81-69 win over Ranger, Texas on Saturday at the NEO Classic.
