RECAP vs Odessa College
The Cougars collected 14 hits in its season debut but couldn't keep up with the host Wrangler's scoring fourteen runs in the first three innings and pounding out 17 hits including a pair of three-run home runs.

Spotting Odessa five runs in the first frame, the Cougars got three back in the second but the home half of the second produced five plate crossers with another four plating in the third digging Barton a 14-3 deficit.

The Cougars gained momentum with an eight run fourth to cut the deficit to just three but after holding Odessa scoreless in the bottom part of the inning couldn't build upon the energy in coming up empty in the fifth.
