Barton softball continues non-conference onslaught scoring thirty-two runs in doubleheader sweep in Lindsborg

The Barton Community College softball team picked up a couple of non-conference victories Monday, traveling to Lindsborg, Kansas, to defeat the junior varsity squad of Bethany College 15-10 and 17-5.  The Lady Cougars jumped out to a 11-2 lead after two at-bats in game one cruising to the victory.  The tables turned for the start of the second game as Bethany jumped out to a 4-1 lead after the first inning only to have the Lady Cougars respond with an eleven run third inning on the way to the 17-5 victory.  Barton crossed the plate thirty-two times on Monday after scoring twenty-seven runs on Saturday and have scored seventeen runs in two of the last three games.  Going 15-5 in non-conference games, Barton improves to 17-11 on the season will take a 2-6 conference record to Garden City, Kansas, on Wednesday as the competition stiffens in Jayhawk Conference play.  The Broncbusters, who swept the Cougars back on March 19 in Great Bend, lead Barton in the standings for third place entering the contest at 5-5 in conference play and 14-19 overall.  First pitch for the pivotal doubleheader is 2:00 p.m. at the Tangeman Sports Complex with live web streaming available at www.BartonSports.com.
