Quick strikes power 11th ranked Barton men's soccer victory at Coffeyville #GoBarton

Barton men's soccer victory at Coffeyville featuring Lucas Constante

A pair of net shakers in less than two minutes powered the 11th ranked Barton Community College men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory Wednesday evening at Coffeyville Community College.

Following a scoreless first half, Barton took a 2-0 lead within the first seven minutes out of the locker room before holding on the final twenty-eight minutes for the victory.

The Cougars improved to 2-0 in their pair of road conference games and 2-0-1 overall while spoiling Coffeyville's league opener in dropping to 1-1-1 overall.

Barton continues its tough early season schedule on Friday hosting 12th ranked Indian Hills Community College in a 10:00 a.m. kick followed by a Sunday 9:00 a.m. kick versus 2022 national tournament qualifier Jefferson College.

Lucas Constante contributed to both goals, the first beating the Red Raven defense down the right side before crossing the ball to the top of the eighteen. Meeting the pass mid-air, Wilmont Manneh's touch to Nicolas Galanis for a mid-volley rocket past the Red Raven keeper put Barton up with 40:09 left on the second half game clock.

Ninety seconds later, Constante took advantage of a mistake from the Red Ravens' keeper to win the ball and fire mid net for the eventual game winner.

The Cougars returned the mistake later in the half as confusion in the midfield set up the Red Ravens in a 1v1 winning situation to slice the deficit in half with 28:40 remaining.
