Barton Men's Soccer player Ricardo Sepulveda and Men's Golf player Pontus Nordstrom have been named the week 6 "Barton Sports Weekly Athletic Award Honors."

Ricardo Sepulveda contributed in big ways on both sides of the field for the Cougars this past week in a pair of road victories. On Wednesday the sophomore defenseman generated both net shakers, including a 47-yard "SportsCenter Top-10" type of strike to the upper-90 for the eventual 2-1 road win at Garden City then helped lead a stout defensive backline in Saturday's shutout victory at KCK.

Sepulveda and the Cougars dropped their game Wednesday to #6 Cowley College 4-1 and will have a 15-day layoff before returning to the pitch on October 16th as they travel to Dodge City Community College for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.

Pontus Nordstrom won his second straight tournament , opening the two-day Barton Invitational with a 3-over 75 before blistering the course on Monday in climbing three spots with a 6-under 66 to win by five strokes at 3-under 141. The 66 card was the program's best since Natchapol Srinoon fired off 65 and 66 rounds at the 2015 KWU Invitational held at the Salina Municipal Golf Course.

Nordstrom and the Barton golf team will have a near two week layoff before they hit the links against, traveling to Kasnas City October 11-12 for the KCK Classic held at Dub's Dread Golf Club.
