Brett Frantz is in his 1st season with the Barton Community College men’s basketball program in 2021-22.

Frantz comes to Barton from Lake Erie College, a NCAA Division II program, in Painesville, Ohio, where he was an assistant for two years.

In his two seasons at Lake Erie, Frantz spent time orchestrating the recruiting trail, team travel and player development. Frantz’ helped develop Storm standout Gabe Kynard who was voted Great Midwest Athletic Conference Player of the Year and a First Team All-Region selection in 2019-20.

Prior to joining the Storm, Coach Frantz spent a season at Ottawa University as an assistant where the Braves won 19 games and upset top ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan University. Along with helping the Ottawa varsity squad, Frantz served as the Head Coach of the Braves Junior Varsity team.

He began his coaching career at Neosho County Community College where he served as an assistant to current Cougars’ Head Coach Jeremy Coombs.

Frantz was a two-year letterman on the basketball court at Youngstown State University and appeared in 60 games for the Penguins. Franz was a recipient of the Dom Rosselli Scholarship and member of Student Athlete Advisory Committee at Youngstown State.

Frantz played his first two collegiate seasons under Coombs at Neosho County where he was a two-year starter and captain for the Panthers. At Neosho, he helped the team compile a 46-16 record while receiving a KJCCC Honorable Mention nod in 2014-15.

Frantz received a Bachelor’s degree in business from Youngstown State University in 2017 and went on to receive a Master’s degree in business administration from Lake Erie College in 2021.
