John Stuckey
Title: Assistant Basketball Coach

Jon Stuckey enters his second season as assistant coach at Barton County. Coach Stuckey has a wealth of basketball coaching experience, serving as a general manager, head coach, and assistant coach for a variant of organizations ranging from professional to high school basketball since the early 1990s.

Most recently, he served in a dual capacity for Black Hills Gold, a professional basketball team in the International Basketball Association, but the franchise was sold before the start of the 1999-2000 season. During the 1998-99 season, he served as GM and head coach for the Wisconsin Blast of the I.B.A., taking the team to its first playoff appearance in franchise history. The team finished with a 16-18 record in its final season before undergoing a name change and re-locating to Rapid City, S.D. Stuckey joined the Blast as an assistant coach in the 1997-98 season, helping lead the team to a 19-15 season.

Prior to coaching professional basketball, Stuckey served as assistant coach at Western Carolina University during the 1996-97. He was an assistant coach for Vanguard High School in Ocala, Fla., during the 1995-96 season, leading his team to a 20-8 record and 18th at the state tournament. From 1993 through 1995, Stuckey served as assistant coach at Northview High School in Brazil, Ind. In 1992-93, he was an assistant basketball coach at Bloomington North High in Indiana

Stuckey served as a student assistant basketball manager at Indiana University from 1988 through 1992. Indiana captured the Big Ten championship, advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 in 1989. The Hoosiers captured another conference title in 1991 en route to another "Sweet 16" appearance and during Stuckey's final year with the team, Indiana advanced to the NCAA Final Four

He earned a bachelor's of science degree in education from Indiana University in 1992. Jon is married to the former Jamie Pell of Carbon, Ind. The couple resides in Great Bend.
