All twelve Cougars contributed to a Saturday evening high flying 103-79 victory for the 3rd ranked Barton Community College men's basketball team visiting Northwest Kansas Technical College.
The Cougars strung a pair of big stretches in each half to remain unbeaten at the Max L. Jones Fieldhouse, a 14-0 run in the first twenty minutes followed by a 12-0 spurt in the early minutes of the second frame to eventually lead by 35 points and exceeding the century mark for the 5th time this year.
Extending its conference program win streak to fourteen, the Cougars improve to 17-1 atop the league and 23-1 overall while NW Tech slides to 5-12 in conference and 9-14 on the season.
Looking to continue its longest unbeaten stretch since 2012, Barton's next focus is on Wednesday's hosting of Seward County Community College in a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
None of the Cougars played more than 22 minutes with most getting ten or more minutes of court time.
Five players hit the double-figure scoring mark led by the 19 points from Myles Thompson and Lajae Jones. Jones also pieced a sold all-around game leading the squad with 8 rebounds and 5 steals.
Barton had a sizable bench production difference until the last five minutes of the contest but still finished with a twenty point advantage with Brent Moss leading with 15 points and Christian Bowen-Webb's 2-of-4 behind the arc leading to a 10 point evening.
Fresh off a career high performance last Wednesday, Ring Malith added 10 points with 9 rebounds to just miss his first collegiate double-double.
Mozae Downing-Rivers continued to prove he's one of the best distributors in the league by dishing out 7 of the Cougars' fourteen assists while Cooper Jackson continued to add to his program second best theft total in recording one shy of Jones' team leading five.
The Cougars had one of its better shooting nights of the year at 53.9% by attacking the paint for 46 of its points to offset just 7-of-24 connections from beyond the arc.
NW Tech's 54% second half shooting countered its first 38.7% frame in finishing at 46.9% with 38 points in the paint as the Mavericks were 6-of-17 (35.3%) from long range.
Keyishon Miller led all players with 25 points and team high 7 rebounds with Taiden Conner swishing 3-of-5 from beyond the arc towards a 16 point night. Idris Williams added 11 points as Amar Lane and Emarquis Jones contributed 10 points each.
