Barton's Jones earns third consecutive KJCCC Division I Basketball Player of the Week #GoBarton

For the third straight week of nominations, Lajae Jones of the 10th ranked Barton Community College men's basketball team has been named the KJCCC's Division I Basketball Player of the Week.

It was another double-double producing week six for Jones in leading Cougars to a pair of victories by averaging 10.5 points and 11 rebounds in 30.5 minutes per game.

Jones opened his week going 5-of-7 from the field finishing with 11 points and securing 12 boards in 28 minutes leading Barton to a twenty-three point home win over Northwest Kansas Technical College.

This past Saturday, Jones' third straight double-double helped Barton close out the fall portion of the schedule with a sixteen point victory at Seward County Community College. Jones' 4-of-8 shooting led to a 10 point afternoon in adding 10 rebounds and a team leading three steals in Barton's first victory at The Greenhouse since 2018.

Jones' third weekly honor is the fourth for the Cougars this season as Myles Thompson earned the week two distinction in averaging a double-double in Barton's trio of victories.

The Cougars stand through the holiday break at 6-1 in KJCCC play and 12-1 overall with its next contest slated for Wednesday, January 3rd in a 7:30 p.m. tip hosting Coffeyville Community College.
