Barton's Jones named Week 4 KJCCC Player of the Week #GoBarton

Lajae Jones of the 6th ranked Barton Community College men's basketball team has been named the KJCCC's Week Four Player of the Week.

Jones averaged a double-double last week in helping the Cougars to a pair of road victories to remain unbeaten on the season.

Shooting 69% for the week, Jones averaged 22 points and 11.5 rebounds in 28.5 minutes of court time. Jones opened his week shooting 8-of-11 from the field for 19 points with 8 rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 26 minutes helping Barton to a 96-75 win at Pratt.

Concluding the week this past Sunday, the sophomore guard posted his fourth 20-point performance of the season scoring 20 of his game high 25 in second half action guiding the Cougars to a 65-53 victory at 24th ranked Cloud County. Jones knocked down a perfect 4-of-4 from long distance in finishing 8-of-12 from the field while adding a career high 15 rebounds for his second double-double of the year.

Most recently Jones again led the squad in scoring with 18 points but was not enough as the 6th ranked Cougars fell to nationally receiving votes Cowley College 80-70 Wednesday evening.

Now 3-1 in league play and 9-1 overall, Barton turns the page towards its third straight tough contest coming on Saturday with a 4:00 p.m. tip at 9th ranked Butler Community College (3-0, 9-0).
