Coming off a pair of impressive wins this weekend on the road, the 19th ranked Barton Community College men's basketball team opened the home slate Monday with a 108-63 victory over the junior varsity squad of McPherson College.

The Cougars scored the evening's first thirteen points in going on to lead 66-34 at the break as ten of the twelve players reached the scoring column.

Barton now turns its focus on hosting the Best Western Angus Inn/Cougar Booster Club Classic over the weekend, opening Friday against Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa followed by Saturday's game versus Northern Oklahoma College-Enid. Tip-off for both games slated for 7:30 p.m. with live-stream available on the Barton Sports Network found at www.BartonSports.com

Myles Thompson's first double-double of the season led the Cougars with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Lajae Jones was 3-of-7 from long range and added a highlight reel mid-air between-the-legs tomahawk dunk contributing to his 21 point total.

Mozae Downing-Rivers dished out 12 of the Cougars' 28 assists, the fifth time of the sophomore's career of double-digit distributions.

Fifty-six points came off the Barton bench, three in double-figures on a combined 8-of-11 from behind the arc as the Cougars shot 46.2% from long range.

Keandre Kindell was perfect on his two shots for an 18 point night, Christian Bowen-Webb buried his first two of his 5-of-7 performance for 12 points, with Brent Moss' 1-2 leading to 12 points in falling short of his consecutive double-double streak in grabbing six rebounds.

Faheem Beghezza led McPherson with 18 points on 7-of-17 shooting including 4-of-11 from behind the arc.
