19th ranked Barton men roll to big season opening victory over 23rd ranked NEO #GoBarton

It took the 19th ranked Barton Community College men's basketball team about ten minutes to find its stride Friday in Hutchinson before rolling through the final thirty in registering a 93-58 season opening victory over 23rd ranked Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College in day one of the BSN Sports Tipoff Classic held at the Hutchinson Sports Arena.

The Cougars return to Hutchinson for day two action on Saturday versus North Idaho College in another 3:00 p.m. tipoff as the Cardinals are coming off an 91-82 loss to host Hutchinson Community College. Live stream audio and video coverage links can be found at www.BartonSports.com.

Lajae Jones, the son of former Cougar standout Jackie Jones, led the Cougars with an impressive 30 point and 9 rebound debut. The sophomore transfer connected on 12-of-17 from the field, knocking down 6-of-7 from long range and added two steals and a block in thirty minutes of court time.

Mozae Downing-Rivers added 10 points with freshman Brent Moss coming off the bench for a double-double production of 10 points and 10 rebounds.

All twelve suited Cougars added to the scoring column with Barton shooting 44.3% from the field, 11-of-28 from deep, and adding a solid 12-of-14 from the stripe.
