Barton Men's Basketball lands pair on All-Region Team #GoBarton

Barton men's basketball 2020-21 All-Region selections

The Barton Community College men's basketball team placed two players on the 2021 All-Region VI Men's Basketball Team, the league office released.

Sophomore Jaheim Holden was named to the all-region second team and sophomore Justin Harmon was named as an honorable mention selection.

Holden was the offensive catalyst for the Cougars either in the starting lineup or first off the bench, sharing the team high point mark of 16 points per contest with teammate Harmon ranking 12th on the region leaderboard.

The native of Evanston, Illinois, ranked in the top four of the Region Division I leaderboards in distributing 4.8 assists and recording 1.9 steals per game. The 6'0" point guard got to the dish in lightning quick time or pulling up for a long jumper, draining 50 triples on 39% shooting or calmly sinking free throws at an 82.9% success rate.

Reaching double figures in all but three of his appearances, Holden eclipsed the 20-point total five times including a career high 27 points twice including his lone double-double adding 10 assists and sinking a perfect 13-of-13 from the charity stripe in a late January win over Allen.

Justin Harmon – All-Region VI Honorable Mention
Providing an all-around game for the Cougars, Harmon tied for the team scoring title with Holden recording 16 points per contest accumulating a solid 49.2% shooting mark to go along with 4.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists per outing.

The Chicago, Illinois, native reached double-figures in 21 of his 22 games for Barton including a career high 26-point performance in early March at NW Kansas Technical with five other outings eclipsing the 20-point mark. Harmon also recorded a 20-point, 10 assist, effort against Garden City for his lone double-double of the year signifying his unselfish distribution also signified by dishing out four or more dimes nine other times throughout the season.

Shooting 81.4% from the charity stipe, Harmon along with Holden were key contributors to the Cougars' 75.7% from the line in leading the Region VI and ranking 6th overall in the nation.
