No. 11 Cougars escape with 78-77 win at Seward County #GoBarton

The No. 11 ranked Barton Community College men's basketball team escaped the Saturday night upset bid from Seward County Community College in The Greenhouse in leaving Liberal with a 78-77 victory. The eighth straight win improves the Cougars to 15-2 in the Jayhawk and 19-2 overall while dropping Seward County to 9-8 and 13-8 on the year. Barton will next play on Wednesday in hosting Cowley College (10-7, 13-8) in a 7:30 p.m. tip at the Barton Gym.

Keshon Montague's 4-of-10 behind the arc led to a team leading seventeen points pacing four Cougars in double-digits. Noah Webster was lethal behind the arc in 5-of-6 shooting for fifteen points while reigning conference player of the week Marvin Cannon contributed twelve points. Posting his fifth double-double of the year, Elijah Ford dropped ten with ten rebounds with Kawanise Wilkins scoring nine points in collecting eight rebounds.

Draining seven long balls on the night, Terrell Alfred led all scorers with twenty-nine points. Isiah Small added eleven points while Ke'Sean Davis joined Ford in the double-double night scoring twelve points to go along with ten rebounds.
