Looking no further than the box score tells the story of Friday night's disappointing home opener for the Barton Community College men's basketball team as the Cougars lost 74-71 to Otero Junior College on the opening night of the Best Western Pizza Hut Classic held at the Barton Gym.   Leading by twenty-one in second half action the Cougars shot 26% from the charity stripe in the final minutes twenty minutes as the Rattlers shot 50% from the field in the comeback to spoil Barton's opener.  The Cougars will next play Sunrise Prep Academy in the 7:30 p.m. game Saturday while Otero will take on Pratt Community College in the 3:00 p.m. game.   

In the first men's game of the Classic Sunrise used a strong second half to knock off Pratt 72-64.
