Hundley new Barton men's basketball assistant coach

Matt Hundley will begin his 1st season as an assistant coach for the Barton Community College men's basketball program this fall. He replaces Jordan Watson who is now the Director of Basketball Operation at Dartmouth College.

 

Hundley comes to the Cougars from Topeka West High School, where he guided his team to the Class 5A state championship game last year. He spent 4 seasons at Topeka West with the best of the seasons coming in his final year and the 2nd place finish at state. For his team's efforts, Hundley was tabbed City Co-Coach of the Year by the Topeka Capital-Journal.

 

Prior to his 4 years in Topeka, Hundley was the coach at Lyndon High School for two seasons and started his coaching career fresh out of college as a student assistant and graduate assistant for Bob Chipman at Washburn University for two seasons.

 

He played collegiately at Washburn helping the Topeka school to a runner-up finish at the 2001 NCAA Division II National Championships. The Ichabods won the MIAA that year as well.

Hundley was part of a state champion in basketball at Bern High School in 1997 as well as a member of the 1998 state champion track team at Bern
