High School/Club:

Joel attended Berean Academy where he was a three year starter, earning a letter all four years. He scored 16.1 points, dished out 4.2 assists, and grabbed 3.1 rebounds per game and shot 80 percent from the charity stripe. Joel helped Berean to Heart of America League titles in 2003 and 2005 along with 4th place State finishes in 2004 and 2005. Joel was named All-State Honorable Mention his sophomore year and earned 1st team All-State honors his junior and senior seasons. He also lettered in soccer and track at Berean.
