Cougars route Doane JV, 110-51
The Barton County Community College men's basketball team had an easy time of it Saturday at the Barton County Gym, rolling by the Doane College JV team, 110-51. The win was the 6th straight for the Cougars. Barton is now 7-2 overall this season with its only two losses coming by a combined 8 points. The Cougars still have a home game tonight against the Sterling JV as well as home contests Friday and Saturday in the Cougar Booster Club/Walnut Bowl Classic.



Highlights
The Cougars starting making shots early and never stopped. Barton connected on 66 percent of its shots in the opening half and drilled 58 percent in the 2nd stanza. No Barton starter logged more than 14 minutes in the win.

Barton was led by Antanas Kavaliauskas with 22 points, it was the 2nd the time the freshman reached the 20-point plateau and was a career-high effort. Also turning in a career-high was freshman Scott Elliott. Elliott tossed in 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the floor. Rone Smith added a season-high 15 points as well. Justin Rose, JP Batista, and Laurent Correa also reached double figures. Rose and Batista finished with 12 while Correa tossed in 11. Correa also grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds for his 1st double-double with the Cougars. Joel Hannagan contributed a career-high 6 assists.
