Elliott signs to play with Barton County
Scott Elliott of Immaculata High School in Leavenworth has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for the Barton County Community College Cougars.

Elliott, a 6-3 shooting guard, was a 1st team Class 3A selection by the Topeka Capital Journal, 2nd team 3A selection by the Wichita Eagle, 2nd team All-Metro by Metro Sports of Kansas City and the Kaw Valley League MVP. He averaged 21.5 points a contest while shooting 52% from the field. Elliott also shot 42% from the 3-point line for the season. He led the Raiders to the 3A State Tournament in Hutchinson and scored 23 points in a first round loss to eventual state runner-up Medicine Lodge.

Elliott chose Barton County over Jayhawk East schools Highland and KCK as well as Avila (Mo.) University, Kansas Newman and William Jewell (Mo.) College.

" I was very impressed with the coaching staff and the school when I visited in March", Elliott said. "The tradition, facilities and the reception I received was tremendous."

"Scott did a great job for us this year in leading us back to the state tournament," Immaculata High School basketball coach Dan Schmidt said. "Scott has a great work ethic and will be very successful at the next level due to his off season work."

Elliott played in the Northeast Kansas All Star game at Highland on April 13. He scored 12 points and was chosen to the five man "All-Star" team at the conclusion of the contest.
