    The search for a new coach for the Barton County Community College men’s basketball coach is over and it resulted in landing a name not only familiar in NJCAA basketball circles but one that is currently in the NJCAA Hall of Fame.

    A press conference has been scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at the Student Union on the campus of Barton County Community College to name a new men’s basketball coach at the college.
  • Coach Wolf headed to Murray State

    Barton County Community College men’s basketball coach Ryan Wolf is headed to Murray State University (Kent.) to become an assistant coach at the NCAA Division I school. Wolf will be an assistant under new head coach Mick Cronin.

    Scott Elliott of Immaculata High School in Leavenworth has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for the Barton County Community College Cougars.
  • Ex-Cougar Coach Forbes headed to Illinois State

    Former Barton County Community College men’s basketball coach Steve Forbes has moved on to Illinois State University as an assistant coach. Forbes has spent the past three seasons as an assistant at Louisiana Tech, where he helped guide the team to its first post season game in 10 years with a trip to the NIT in 2002.
  • Pulley signs to play basketball for Missouri

    The Barton County Community College men’s basketball team had a 4th member ink with an NCAA Division I team when Randy Pulley signed to play for Missouri next year. Pulley joins Robert Whaley (Cincinnati), Nouha Diakite (Louisville), and redshirt freshman Jesse McClung (Ball State) as Cougars heading to DI schools.
  • Bruner signs to play with Barton County

    The Barton County Community College men’s basketball team snagged itself a prize possession in Kansas for next season. The Cougars signed consensus 1st team All-State selection Aubrey Bruner to be part of its basketball team next season. Bruner was a member of the Class 5A state champion McPherson High School Bullpups this past season.
  • Whaley earns 2nd team All-American honors

    Barton County Community College sophomore basketball standout Robert Whaley was named as a 2nd team All-American by the National Junior College Athletic Association, the second straight year he has earned recognition by the NJCAA. Last season Whaley was a 1st team All-American as a freshman
  • Bush sets Conference USA single season steals record

    Former Barton County Community College All-American Eric Bush put himself in the Conference USA basketball records books during his University of Alabama-Birmingham’s run through the NIT post season tournament. The Blazers season ended a loss to St. John, one game short of the NIT semifinals.

    The Barton County Community College men’s basketball team clinched the Jayhawk West title Wednesday night with a 107-80 win over Cloud County at the Barton County Gym. The West title is the 8th overall for Barton and its 4th in the last 6 years.

    The Barton County Community College men’s basketball team took another step toward capturing the Jayhawk West Championship, knocking off Butler County, 65-58, Saturday night at the Barton County Gym. The win, coupled with a Seward County loss to Cloud County, assured Barton of at least a share of the Jayhawk West title and wrapped up the top seed in the upcoming Region VI tournament.

    The Barton County Community College men's basketball team rebounded from its only loss of the season last weekend to win two games at the Jayhawk Shoot-Out in Coffeyville over the weekend. After defeating Highland on the opening day, the No. 4 ranked Cougars defeated defending NJCAA national runner-up Coffeyville on the Red Ravens home court, ending their 32-game home court winning streak.

    The Barton County Community College men's basketball team lost for the first time this season, falling to Neosho by a 100-98 score in double overtime Saturday at the Barton County Gym. The loss for the No. 1 ranked Cougars came on the second day of the Cougar Booster Club/Walnut Bowl Classic.

    The Barton County Community College men's basketball team fought off a hard challenge from host Midland College Saturday to complete the Midland Classic with a 3-0 mark. The Cougars had to go into overtime for the second time this season, but held off Midland, 79-71 at the Chap Center in Midland, Texas.

    The Barton County Community College men's basketball team improved to 7-0 for the year, capturing two games at the Pizza Hut Classic this weekend at the Barton County Gym. The Cougars wrapped up the event Saturday with a 115-89 win over Lee College (Texas). Friday night Barton defeated the Bethel College JV team, 101-51.
