Cougars drop another one
The Barton County men's basketball continued to struggle, falling at home to Dodge City Monday night in Jayhawk West action, 94-87 in double overtime. The loss is the fifth in six games for Barton County. The Cougars fall to 1-2 in West play and 12-5 overall. Dodge City improved to 11-6 overall and a league-leading 3-0 in conference.

Highlights
The contest was back and forth much of the evening with the 7-point difference in the final score the largest lead for either team. The Conquistadors has chances to win the game in regulation and the first overtime, but shots at the buzzer came up short.

Barton County was led by Robert Whaley with 18 points but Whaley fouled out early in the second overtime. Omari Westley, who fouled out midway through the second overtime, added 16. Aaron Patterson ended with 15, Jesse McClung 11 and Jason Carter 10. Carter, the team's leading scorer on the season, fouled out in regulation.

Dodge City put five players in double figures as well, paced by Todd Okeson and Kerbrell Brown with 20. Jason Ingram added 19.

Next Up
The Cougars continue their flurry of games as they hit the road for their fourth game in eight days when they head to Garden City Wednesday night. Garden City is 13-3 overall and 1-1 in the West after losing to Hutchinson Monday night.
