Barton earns third road win in West play
The Barton County men's basketball team won for the third time in five outings on the road in Jayhawk West play this season, snagging a 63-47 win at Pratt Saturday night. Barton is now 16-5 overall and 4-3 in the Jayhawk West. Pratt falls to 10-11 and 2-5.

Highlights
The game went back-and-forth much of the first half before the Cougars took a 27-26 lead into the halftime. The second half saw Barton smother Pratt on defense, allowed the Beavers just 21 second half points while the Cougars put up 36 of their own.

The inside duo of Omari Westley and Robert Whaley controlled the game for the most part, combining for 34 points of 15-of-21 shooting from the floor. Westley, who is 4th in the Jayhawk West in field goal percentage, hit 8-of-12 field goals while Whaley knocked down 7-of-9. Jason Carter joined the two in doubles figures with 10 points. Whaley added four blocked shots while Carter, who leads the Jayhawk in steals, added four more to his league-leading total. Jesse McClung had five assists.

Pratt was led by Mario Chavez with 12 points and Jolen Montoya with 11. The Beavers leading scorer, Mory Correa, was held to five points and made just one field goal all night.

The game was the first in 10 days for the Cougars, who now face a stretch of seven games in 15 days.

Next Up
The Cougars are right back on the court tonight when Cloud County visits the Barton County Gym. Cloud is sitting at the bottom of the league with a 1-6 mark and a 9-12 overall record. Tip will be at 8 p.m.
