Barton's Ricardo Sanchez Week 5 KJCCC Player of the Week

Ricardo Sanchez of the Barton Community College baseball team has been tabbed the week five KJCCC Division I Player of the Week.

Sanchez turned in a .667 average for the week while adding a perfect fielding percentage rolling up four double plays helping the Cougars take 3-of-4 to open up conference play over Pratt. Bookending three hits in the four game set, Sanchez began the series with a pair of bombs and four RBIs, driving in four more in the next two games, before concluding the week producing three extra base hits driving in an additional two more. The freshman concluded the week 8-for-12 from the plate with a 1.500 slugging percentage, Sanchez scored seven times, drove in 10, and walked six times for a .737 on-base percentage.

The award is the team's second weekly honor of the season and Sanchez first in his Cougar career.

Barton will head on the road Friday for a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader at Dodge City Community College before returning home to conclude the four game series on Saturday in a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader from Lawson-Biggs Field.
