Owen Reynolds of the Barton Community College baseball team has been named the week two KJCCC Division I Pitcher of the Week.

Reynolds made his Cougar debut on Sunday, throwing a six inning one hitter in striking out 11 to notch the victory over Western Nebraska. Reynolds got the first two batters out in four of his six innings on the mound, sending the visiting Cougars down in order four of the six frames including striking out the side in the first to set the tone. Western Nebraska's lone hit came in leading off the fourth inning but Reynolds protected the shutout on a pop-up in front of the plate, his then eighth strikeout, and a harmless infield grounder.

The award is the team's first weekly honor of the season and Reynolds first in his Cougar career.

Barton will head on the road Sunday for a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader at 7th ranked Cowley College after cold temperatures cancelled Thursday's front end of the scheduled four game weekend set.
