The addition of bleachers on the
mezzanine added seating for 442 people and increased the capacity of the
facility to 1,333.
Originally built in 1968 the Panther Gymnasium is the home of the Neosho basketball and volleyball programs, as well as the site for home matches for the Panther wrestling team.
In 2012, the gymnasium underwent over a half a million dollars in renovations which included a new floor, updated locker rooms, and additional seating on the mezzanine. The new floor replaced the original floor installed when the facility was built. The locker room renovation included a major overhaul to the restroom and shower facilities giving them a modern look.
Already known for being one of the loudest gyms in the Jayhawk Conference, the addition of bleachers on the mezzanine added seating for 442 people and increased the capacity of the facility to 1,333.
In 2014 additional renovations are scheduled to take place to repair damage to the floor following a flood in the fall of 2013. The floor will be replaced while additional measures are being installed to prevent future damage due to flooding.
