Cougar Volleyball dominates on sophomore night, sweep Cloud County in three to ensure home playoff match

The Barton Community College Volleyball team ensured a return trip to the Barton Gym by dominating Cloud County Community College 25-21, 25-20, and 25-14 Tuesday night.  Barton improves to 11-18 overall and takes a half game lead over Cloud County in the conference standings for fourth place at 7-6 while ending the T-birds conference season at 7-7 and 12-13 overall.   The Cougars' victory ensures hosting Cloud County again in a first round Region VI playoff match regardless of Barton's season finale at first-place Colby Community College on Thursday.  As of press time, a time and date has not yet been determined for the rematch to determine who advances to the Region VI semifinals in November.

On a night to shine for the sophomore class, freshman Jenna Reid stepped up big for the Cougars with four blocks and five kills hitting .417 for the match.  Jori Mote led with ten kills while fellow sophomore McKenzie Piland was close behind with nine.  Sophomore Kiara Rivera led the defense with eleven digs while freshmen Lakyn Rowden and Casey Friesen each dished out thirteen assists.
