The nation's 2nd ranked Barton Community College women's track and field team had five program record impacts and another land just outside the top ten competing this past weekend in Norman at the John Jacobs Invitational hosted by the University of Oklahoma.

Adding one new national qualifying performance to its now thirty-one total, the Cougars also won three events over the course of the record book impacted two-day event.

Program long jump record holder Nia Robinson won the Friday event on a season best 6.36m leap before putting her name in the 8th spot of triple jump school list with a 12.77m mark to place third overall in Saturday's competition.

Lashanna Graham, who is also a program record in the 400m hurdles, won the event in a season best 58.41 time. In the shorter 100m hurdle variety, Danae Nembhard's personal best of 13.67 placed 4th overall in falling just outside the program top ten list.

In the non-hurdle 400m dash, Ashantae Harvey beat the field with a personal best 53.15 clocking to not only move into the nation's current top time but ranked 9th best in program history.

Barton's highly ranked throwing crew didn't disappoint on the weekend, beginning with Friday's shot put. Kelsie Murrell-Ross marked an NJCAA No. 9 all-time and program 3rd best 16.00m throw in placing 4th with Efe Latham giving the Cougars' its third national entry in the event with a 13.40m throw to place 12th. Lillian Thomas also posted a personal best in marking a 17th place 11.96m.

Three of the nation's top four hammer throws compete with Barton on their chest and continued their impact on the program all-time list. Personals best by Jada Sewell of 51.94m moved in the 4th all-time spot with Latham moving into the 7th spot on a 50.53m mark. The duo placed 5th and 7th respectively on the day while Ariana Rodriguez, who already has a national qualifying and program top fifteen mark, placed 12th overall at 47.01m.

Barton begins final preparations for post-season competing in the KJCCC/Region VI Championships held May 5-7 in Garden City, Kansas.
