Lady Cougar track and field head to Texas for Masked Rider Open

The Barton Community College women's track and field team returns to indoor competition this weekend in the Masked Rider Open held on the campus of Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.  The Lady Cougars will be competing on both Friday and Saturday in two days of action at the Athletic Training Center against both four-year and two-year colleges and universities.

One race in particular to keep an eye on will be the 1 mile run as the freshmen duo of Lydia Mato and Agnes Abu will both be competing.  Mato will be taking a break from the long distances to compete the mile run.  Mato, who ran the third fastest 5000 meter time in Barton history in her first collegiate meet, has already qualified for the NJCAA National Indoor Championships in the 5000 and 3000 meter events.  Making her Cougar debut last Friday at the Jayhawk Classic, Abu qualified for nationals in the 800 meter run.
