The 12th ranked Barton Community College women's soccer team put up three goals in first half action Saturday before completing a 4-0 shutout at 20th ranked Coffeyville Community College.

Barton improves to 7-0 in conference play and 11-1 overall while dropping Coffeyville to 5-2-1 in league and 9-3-1 on the season.

The Cougars will have another ranked road foe next on the schedule in putting their 8-game win streak and West Division lead on the line in a 6:00 p.m. kickoff at 17th ranked Hutchinson Community College.

After a pair of near misses including a header plunking the crossbar on a corner kick play, the Cougars netted the game's first goal 13:25 into the contest. Ivanna Faria set up the scoring play with a through ball to a cutting Aya Saiki in launching a 23-yard strike to the far post for her 11th of the season.

Kept out of net on a pair of potential early scoring opportunities, Nina Norshie doubled up the lead with 14:15 left with a rise-n-shine header for her 34th goal of the season coming off of Hinano Nakagawa corner kick and 6th assist of the year.

Ten minutes later Norshie helped set up the Cougars' final goal of the half, carrying the ball thirty-yards before dishing to Alisia Solis who beat the Ravens' keeper to the near post for her 5th of the season.

Coffeyville controlled most of the second half action as the Cougars had the cushion advantage to sit back and attack on limited chances. The Red Ravens' press resulted on many scoring opportunities but misfires and saves by Nia Baker kept the sheet clean improving to 8-1 on the year.

Saiki put the final touches on a chippy final moments, volleying Kimberly Guerrero's long cross to strike near post with 4:40 remaining.
