Barton's Norshie earns second straight KJCCC Player of the Week honor #GoBarton

Barton women's soccer Nina Norshie - Week 3 KJCCC Player of the Week

Nina Norshie of the 14th ranked Barton Community College women's soccer team has been named the KJCCC Division I Player of the Week for the second straight week.

Norshie recorded a pair of hat tricks and game winning goals this past week leading the Cougars victories over Garden City Community College and Western Wyoming Community College.

Posting her fifth game of three or more goals, Norshie has quickly moved into the program top ten with twenty goals in just six games of the season.

Norshie netted her first eventual game winner in Wednesday's conference opener versus Garden City in the 18th minute, adding another goal later in the half giving Barton a three goal halftime lead, before tacking on two more within sixty seconds midway through the final half to ice the game.

On Saturday hosting Western Wyoming, Norshie put the Cougars out front in the 9th minute but with Barton clinging to a one goal halftime lead, Norshie found the net twice in second half play to give Barton a three goal cushion to the final six minutes.

Now 5-1 on the year, Barton returns to the pitch Wednesday evening at Dodge City Community College for a 5:30 p.m. kick then opens a two-game homestand beginning Saturday with a 3:00 p.m. kick versus Kansas City Kansas Community College and followed by a Wednesday 3:00 p.m. kick hosting 12th ranked Cowley College.
