The Barton Community College women's soccer team dominated Dodge City Community College in the first half then cruised for a 7-0 conference victory Wednesday in Dodge City.  The Lady Cougars scored seven first half goals, five coming from sophomore standout Bianca Barron, then utilized their deep bench play to cruise to their third conference road shutout of the season.  The No. 15 NSCAA ranked Lady Cougars win marks their fifth straight to improve to 5-2 overall and 5-0 in conference play while dropping Dodge City to 4-4 overall and 1-2 in conference.  Barton will look to extend their five-game win streak on Saturday in hosting Allen County Community College in a 2:00 p.m. conference contest at the Cougar Soccer Complex.

Sophomore Molly Hausmann got the Lady Cougars rolling in the first half taking a pass from freshman Ronnie Johnson to give Barton the early lead.  Sophomore Bianca Barron then put the Lady Conquistadors away scoring four straight goals, one coming unassisted while three coming via assists from Hausman, Johnson, and fellow sophomore Mariana Poveda.  Freshman Aliya Marshall then scored her second goal of the season scoring off sophomore Emily Troll's pass from the midfield before setting up Barron for her fifth goal of the first half putting the final dagger in the first half seven-goal onslaught.

With Head Coach Aaron Avila fully utilizing the bench in second half action, goalkeepers Stephanie Lomas and Kacee Walsh along with a host of defensive players combined for the shutout giving the Lady Cougars three shutout victories on the season, all three coming on enemy turf.

Barron, who has scored five goals in a game three times in her career, now stands in fourth place on the Barton all-time list.  Passing Flavia Bernardes ('08-09) and Elaine Fontes ('05-06), Barron need two goals to move into third place and eight to take over possession of second place.
