Chloe Enslinger of the Barton Community College softball team has been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) West All-Region second team recognizing Division I players of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
The NFCA honor for the Derby, Kansas, native is the first for the program since Teegan Krol's awarding following the 2021-22 season.
Enslinger led the Cougars on a program single season 4th most home runs (18) and 5th most runs batted in (65), slugging percentage (.883), total bases (128), and sacrifice flies (4).
Making the full-time move to catcher for her sophomore season, Enslinger recorded 223 putouts with 18 assists, committing just 3 errors for a .988 fielding percentage behind the plate.
The performances were additionally rewarded with a 1st team selection of the All-KJCCC/Region 6 post-season awards following a 2nd team honor last year at third base.
Hitting a squad 3rd best and program 10th best .441 on the year, Enslinger had 20 multi-hit games and kicked off a stretch of 14 straight games with a hit by garnering the Week 6 Player of the Week award.
Finishing her career helping Barton to the Region 6 Championship game for the first time since 2021, Enslinger batted 3-of-6 with a home run and pair of RBI in her final two games of the title chase.
In her two seasons, Enslinger left her mark on the program career chart as well with a 2nd most home runs (29) and runs batted in (125), a 5th most hit by pitches (12), a 6th best batting average (.434), while finishing just outside the top ten in hits (121) and runs scored (87).
The Cougars' season finished firmly in the third spot of the KJCCC standings at 25-7, reached the Region 6 title game, before concluding the year receiving votes in the final NJCAA Division I poll at 35-16 for the most wins since the 2016 season.
