Cougars run in first ever FHSU Tiger Open

The Barton Community College men's cross country team competed Saturday in the first ever Fort Hays State University Tiger Open.  Held at the Sand Plum Nature Trail located near Victoria, Kansas, the 8K invitational featured over 120 runners and ten teams from the NCAA Division II level, NAIA, and junior colleges. 

Tyler Lumpkin again the Cougars for the second straight meet finishing in 91st place with a time of 28:24.61, a 5:43 pace per mile.  Tayron Reyes, who did not compete in the Cougars' previous meet, finished in 101st place in a time of 29:09.05.  Wisconsin sophomore David Berry ran his first meet of the season in 29:42.33 to finish 106th while Josh Watson finished in 116th place with a time of 31:35.10.  

The Cougars next meet will be October 19 as they travel to El Dorado for the Ollie Isom Invitational.
