Ross and Kerr earn Week 13 Barton Sports Weekly Athletic Award Honors #GoBarton

Barton Sports Student Athletes of the Week for Week of 11/16/2021

Netani Ross and Olivia Kerr of the Barton Community College swimming teams have been named the week 13 "Barton Sports Weekly Athletic Award Honors" sponsored by Gareat Bend's Indentifications Company.

Netani Ross had a steller week in the pool for the Cougar men's swimming team earning an individual school record while assisting in all three relay breakers at the Eagle Invitational. The freshman tunred in the highest indivdiual finish over the three-day event with a runner-up finish in the 100-yard backstroke, turning in the fastest time in program history of 50.43. Ross remained a forced for Barton helping acheive school records in the 200-yard medley, 400-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle relays.

Olivia Kerr led five Cougars' over the 40-point plateau this past weekend at the Eagle Invitational turning in a 47-point performance. The freshman netted the lone individual record on the weekend in the 200-medley turning in a program best 2:12.83. Kerr capped her strong week helping the Cougar 400-yard freestyle relay team to a program record time of 3:36.97.

The Cougar swimming teams will have an extended break before resuming their season on January 8th in a 1:00 p.m. dual against the University of Saint Mary's and Sterling College in Lansing, KS.
