Barton’s Constante nets KJCCC Player of the Week award #GoBarton

Lucas Constante of the 11th ranked Barton Community College men's soccer team has been named the week five KJCCC Division I Player of the Week.

Constante had a solid offensive week for the Cougars finding the back of the net twice in helping Barton to a clean 2-0 week.

Scoreless for over 86-minutes on Wednesday, Constante found himself in the right spot at the right time banging home Tajay Grant's rebound post shot fortifying the Cougars 1-0 upset over No. 3 Cowley College.

The freshman furnished his second clutch goal of the week providing the equalizer off Diego Veit's sent in corner kick helping Barton overcome a 2-0 deficit to later win 3-2 in overtime at receiving votes Neosho County Community College.

Constante is the third different Cougar to pick up a weekly conference award joining Grant's week three and goalkeeper Dennis Bottcher's week one award.

Barton will return to the pitch Saturday afternoon against No. 20 Johnson County Community College in a 1:00 p.m. first kick from the Cougar Soccer Complex.
