Barton Fortnite claims program’s sixth NJCAAE National Championship
The Barton Community College eSports program added to its trophy case this past month as the Fortnite tandem of Cameron Howell, James Kingsbury, and Cole Burtin delivered a 3-2 victory over Wichita State University Tech.
Earning the program's sixth ever eSports National Championship, second year Head Coach Skylar Franklin and the trio of Cougars delivered the program's first ever Fortnite Championship and first title since the back-to-back defense of the Rainbow 6 Siege squad in 2022-23.
When asked about the Fortnite championship Head Coach Franklin stated, "I'm so proud of the work these three individuals have put in this season and pieced it all together when it mattered most to earn this nationals honors."
The Cougar eSports teams also secured two more top-3 finishes placing runner-up in Call of Duty Warzone and third place in Call of Duty Gunfight.
