Former Cougar Micah Grover is in his first season as volunteer assistant coach of the Barton Baseball program. With primary responsibilities of coaching the catchers and first base, Grover also helps with the offense and is also in charge of taking care of Lawson-Biggs Field, the Baseball facility, and other grounds keeping needs associated with the softball field and track/field complex.
A native of Cheney, Kansas, Grover was a three-sport athlete including baseball in batting over .500 with 7 home runs and 80 runs batted in his final two years capped by a first-team All-State selection.

A member of the 316 Elite youth baseball team in winning the 2018 National Showcase Champions, Grover was also a participant in the Kansas State All-Star game in concluding his high school career.

Playing in 10 games his freshman season at Barton, Grover moved into the first base position his sophomore year where he made twelve starts in the Covid affected shortened season. Returning for a second sophomore season, Grover started in 39 games played as either the first baseman or designated hitter batting .258 in 124 at-bats including 10 doubles, 5 home runs, 12 stolen bases, and 31 runs batted in.

Grover also played two seasons in the Sunflower Collegiate League, one for the Cheney Diamond Dawgs and his last season with the Great Bend Bat Cats. Grover then signed to play at Washburn University before a knee injury sidelined his playing career opening up the door to coaching.
