WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Nov. 9, 2016)-- The Mules Wrestling Team will take on two teams in Barton Community College and Wentworth Military Academy to open up the 2016-17 season tonight (Wednesday) at 6:30 p.m.in the Multipurpose Building.

Central Missouri vs. Wentworth: 3-0
The Mules have never lost a dual to Wentworth with all three wins coming under Head Coach

Central Missouri vs. Barton CC: 0-0
The Mules and the Cougars will meet for the first time ever in a dual match-up. The Cougars are just in their second year ever of wrestling.
Mat Points
• The Mules look will look to bounce back from tough 2015-16 season where the Mules finished 2-9 in duals and 1-4 in the MIAA.
• Central Missouri's duals against Barton and Wentworth are their first of the 2016-17 season.
• Wentworth will sport a young team against the Mules with a roster of just freshman and sophomores.

Andrew Tujague is No. 4 at 149 pounds,
Allan Person is No. 5 at 174 pounds,
Erick Vargas is No. 7 at 125 pounds, and
Cody Carson is No. 8 at 184 pounds.
• The Mules are preseason No. 11 in Super Region III and were picked to finish fifth in the MIAA this year.
Scouting the Competition
Wentworth
• The Red Dragons enter their sixth season of wrestling at the junior college level. Their match-up against Central Missouri will be the fourth meeting all-time while their dual against Barton County will be the first meeting between the two schools.
• The Red Dragons were set to dual Arkansas Baptist on Oct. 31 then at Missouri State on Nov. 1 but both matches were cancelled.
• The Red Dragons are still looking for their first dual win against Central Missouri. They are 0-3 against the Mules all-time.
•The Red Dragons will return to Warrensburg later this week as they are set to compete in the UCM Open on Sunday Nov. 13. Meet time is set for 10 a.m. in the Multipurpose Building.
Barton County CC
• The Cougars in just the second year ever as wrestling program. In their inagural season, the Cougars finished 15th in the country at NJCAA Wrestling Championships.
• The Cougars had one All-American last season in sophomore Will Bardezbain. He placed fifth at 125 pounds to garner All-American status.
• The Cougars competed at the Dan Harris Open last week and wallked away with several place-winners. Brix Brickey and David Kelly both captured first place honors at 285 pounds and 174 pounds, respectively. The Cougars finished the Dan Harris Open with combined team record of 35-27.
• The Cougars will square off against Central missouri for teh first time in program history. Their dual against Wentworth will also be the first in program history for the Cougars
