Fort Hays State track and field opens the 2015 outdoor season by hosting the 22nd Annual Alex Francis Classic at Lewis Field Stadium on Friday and Saturday (Mar. 27-28). Athletes from nine colleges, including Fort Hays State, are expected to compete at the meet.

A handful of collegiate field events are set to kick off Friday afternoon at 3:30 pm, with distance events to follow in the evening starting at 7 pm. Saturday combines the college and high school competitions, starting at 11 am.

College teams expected to compete include Fort Hays State, Nebraska-Kearney, Colorado College, Kansas Wesleyan, Colby Community College, Dodge City Community College, Barton Community College, UC-Colorado Springs, and Northwest Kansas Technical College.

FHSU won both the men's and women's team competitions last year.
