The 9th ranked Barton Community College women's tennis team surrendered just five games on Tuesday in a 9-0 clean sweep at Pratt Community College.
Barton improves to 9-4 on the season in concluding the conference slate at 1-2 while the undermanned Beavers remain winless at 0-2 in league and 0-11 overall.
The Cougars, who canceled their weekend Texas trip of competition, will most likely schedule another non-conference date in final preparations for the Region VI Championships held April 26-27 in Arkansas City.
In the lone pair of doubles matchups, Barton won by a combined 16-2 score with the No. 3 slot and the final two singles pairings being unplayed due to Pratt's roster shortage.
Luciana Braga and Carmen Lyons won the No. 1 tandem 8-2 over Yamile Medoza/Sienna Glazbrook while Ana Vasilis and Ana Alice Tosetto took the No. 2 matchup with an 8-0 win over Olivet Shove/Tabitha Pauly.
Vasilis and Tosetto each registered twin 6-0 blankings over Shove and Pauly respectively in the No. 3 and No. 4 singles action with 18th ranked Brago beating Medoza 6-0, 6-1, in the top spot while Lyons took care of the No. 2 slot victory with 6-2, 6-0 set scores over Glazbrook.
