No. 16 Barton Women's Tennis sweeps first day, sits atop NJCAA Championship leaderboard

The Barton Community College women's tennis team got off to a great start on the first day of the NJCAA Division I National Tennis Championships, winning all of Sunday's nine matches at the Reffkin Tennis Center in Tucson, Arizona.  Sweeping all six singles matches in straight sets before capturing the afternoon's three doubles matches, the No. 16 ranked Lady Cougars sit atop the standings with a perfect eighteen points, two points ahead of the Marion Military Institute squad who Barton beat at the No. 3 singles match.   The competition cranks up on Monday as the Lady Cougars return to the court early morning to begin play in the Round of 16.
