Nina Norshie of the 7th ranked Barton Community College women's soccer team has been named the week six KJCCC and NJCAA Offensive Player of the Week.
Norshie broke her three-game scoreless stretch this past week in continuing to climb up the Barton all-time list with a six goal week leading Barton to a pair of road victories.
Snapping the skid with two net shakers Wednesday in Garden City, Norshie continued her offensive aggression Saturday in Liberal with a four-goal outing for her 10th time of exceeding three or more goals. The week moved Norshie from 4th to sole possession of 2nd all-time in Barton history with 52nd career goals while moving up a spot to 5th all-time with 113 career points.
The victory wraps up Barton's first half swing through the conference slate, staying tied atop the standings at 5-1-2 in league and heading into today's 3:00 p.m. kick hosting Dodge City Community College, a rematch of the Cougars' 3-1 victory back on August 23 in Dodge City.
Earning her first weekly honor of the season, the 2022 NJCAA All-America recipient now has five KJCCC weekly honors to compliment her fourth national distinction.
